1. Scope

This policy describes how the PinDog mobile app and related support pages handle personal information. PinDog is operated by QRANGE DIGITAL LTD., a British Columbia company (BC1538178). PinDog V1.0 helps people discover dog-friendly places around Vancouver and keep a private visit Journal. V1.0 does not include a public Community feed, comments, likes, following, or public user profiles.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: your email address and an internal account identifier used for login, account security, and account deletion.
  • Dog profile information: information you choose to add, such as dog name, breed or mix, size, traits, and an optional profile photo when that feature is available.
  • Private Journal content: places you check in to, visit dates, selected dog, notes, and optional photos. V1.0 check-ins are private to your account.
  • Suggested Spot content: place name, address, place type, dog rules, facilities, notes, and optional photos you submit for PinDog review.
  • Location: when you tap the location control and grant permission, your device location is used to center nearby search. If you decline, PinDog shows Vancouver by default.
  • Technical information: limited request, security, and diagnostic information may be processed by our infrastructure providers to operate and protect the service.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate your account, show nearby places, save dog profiles and private visits, review Suggested Spot submissions, respond to support requests, prevent misuse, maintain service reliability, and comply with applicable law. PinDog V1.0 does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-app advertising tracking.

4. Location

PinDog requests foreground location only after you choose the map location control. Location is used to form a nearby-place search request. PinDog does not intentionally maintain a continuous location history in V1.0. You can deny or withdraw location permission in iOS Settings and continue browsing the Vancouver default area.

5. Service providers

PinDog uses service providers to operate core features:

  • Supabase: authentication, database, server functions, and account-owned data storage. The current PinDog project is hosted in the United States.
  • Google Maps Platform: map display and Google Places search and place details. Search area and place queries may be processed by Google under Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.
  • Apple: iOS permissions, App Store distribution, and device platform services.

These providers may process information outside Canada. Their handling of information is governed by their applicable terms, agreements, safeguards, and legal obligations.

6. When information may be disclosed

We may disclose information to the service providers described above, when required by law or a valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, PinDog, or the public from fraud, abuse, or safety threats. We do not publish V1.0 private Journal entries.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account information while your account is active and retain other information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. You can delete your account inside PinDog under Profile → Privacy & Safety → Delete Account.

Account deletion removes the authentication account, profile, dogs, private check-ins, Journal entries, and pending or unapproved Suggested Spot submissions associated with the account. A place already reviewed and converted into PinDog-owned place information may be retained without information that identifies the submitting account.

8. Your choices and rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information associated with your PinDog account, withdraw optional device permissions, or challenge our privacy practices. Some information may be withheld where permitted or required by law. Contact us using the address below and include enough information for us to verify and respond to your request.

9. Safeguards

We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, including authenticated access and database row-level access controls. No service can guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords, login links, or sensitive personal information in a support email.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as PinDog changes. We will update the date at the top and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how personal information is handled.
